At the award ceremony for the “13th Global Traveler Tested Reader Survey Awards” held today (12/14) by the Global Traveler magazine, China Airlines was named “Airline of the Year” for the first time as well as “Best Airline in North Asia” for the fourth consecutive year. The NexGen fleet also took the honors for “Best Business-Class Seat Design.” The honors represent strong recognition of the airline by international business travelers.
China Airlines Chairman Ho Nuan-hsuan stated that the incorporation of passenger flying experience and requirements into the fabric of the NexGen fleet’s advanced cabins provides local and foreign travelers with the best option for overseas business trips and holidays. The professional maintenance team at China Airlines as well as the attentive service provided by the air and ground crews have always won praise from the industry and travelers as well. China Airlines is therefore honored to receive the awards this year.
According to “Global Traveler”, judging for “Best Airline of the Year” was conducted by the highly experienced editorial team at the magazine and members of its Advisory Board based on criteria such as business performance, load factors, on-time figures, safety records, and brand image. China Airlines emerged from the pack to take the award. Global Traveler CEO Francis X. Gallagher said: “China Airlines won the awards due to its investment into its products such as business class and family couch. It also leaves a strong impression upon readers.”
Most Global Traveler readers are entrepreneurs and executives who on average fly regional routes more than 13 times and international routes more than 9 times a year. The results of the 13th Tested Reader Survey was determined by readers voting on leading candidates in more than 85 travel industry-related categories. The latest awards highlight the high level of acceptance that China Airlines has achieved among business travelers through its efforts on the NexGen fleet.
