Handling guideline for cancellation of schedule change over 3 hours of CI/AE operated flights to/from Northeast Asia affected by Typhoon MAWAR 31 May, 2023
- Eligibility
Passengers who are holding CI/AE valid tickets with confirmed bookings on CI/AE affected flights must file applications on/before 01SEP23. - Rebooking/Reissue/Reroute
(a) Rebooking/Reissue to other CI/AE operated flights with the same Fare Basis/Carrier/Ticketed point including the airport shown on the ticket within ticket validity shall be revalidated or reissued once without service charge.
(b) Any Fare/Tax difference incurred by rebooking with a different Cabin/Fare Basis/Carrier or routing shall be paid by passengers but the reissue charge can be waived once.
(c) For tickets issued via CI website, please contact the call center or branch offices. Other tickets please contact original issuing offices for rebooking and reissue. - Refund
The refund service charge will be waived. Original tickets issued via China Airlines Offical website, call centers and branch offices can apply refund via CI Website. Chargeable seat and Prepaid excess baggage can be fully refunded. For other tickets please contact the original issuing offices.
Group and discount tickets are not applicable to the guidelines above.
Other airlines tickets with confirmed booking on CI/AE operated flights must follow the guidelines of ticket issuing airlines.

Starting from July 1st, the counter closing time for check-in will be changed on part of China Airlines and Mandarin Airlines international flights. 5 May, 2023Dear all passengers, starting from July 1st, the counter closing time for check-in on part of China Airlines/Mandarin Airlines international flights will be changed to 60 minutes before the flight scheduled departure time. You are welcomed to use the self-check-in services to save your waiting time. For more details, you may refer to the Airport / Check-in Counter Information.

Effective from May 1, 2023, the acceptable currencies for cash transactions are NT Dollars, and US Dollars in the form of paper notes*.
For US dollars, only new version notes issued in 2009 and 2013 will be accepted (no year limit for 1, 2, 5, 10, and 50 USD notes). -
Excess baggage rate/prepaid excess baggage rate and free baggage allowance for economy class between Australia and New Zealand will be adjusted effective on/after 12APR23. 31 Mar, 20231. Free baggage allowance for economy class between Australia and New Zealand will be adjusted to 1piece/23KG effective for tickets issued on/after 12APR23. (The adjustment is confined to Economy Class itinerary between Australia and New Zealand and will not have impact on CI itinerary between Taiwan and New Zealand with a stopover in Australia). Free baggage allowance for Dynasty Flyer economy class award tickets will be adjusted accordingly.
2.Excess baggage rate between Australia and New Zealand effective for travels on/after 12APR23 will be adjusted to USD50/per piece and prepaid excess baggage rate to will be adjusted to USD45/per piece. Dynasty Flyer mileage deduction for excess baggage rate at the airport on this route will be adjusted to 7,600 mile per piece simultaneously. -
Effective from 26 March 2023, China Airlines flights departing/arriving from/to Chengdu will be operated at Chengdu Tianfu International Airport (TFU) 26 Mar, 2023Effective 26 March 2023, China Airlines flights departing/arriving from/to Chengdu will be relocated from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (CTU) to Chengdu Tianfu International Airport (TFU).

Ticket handling guidelines for transport strike on 27 March 2023 in Germany Application Passengers affected by the strike of the German transport industry on March 27, 2023, and the flight irregularity of CI061 on March 26 and CI062 on March 27. Eligibility Passengers holding CI valid tickets (Change regulations are applicable to Dynasty Flyer Program Award Ticket). Application Date Must file applications on/before 30JUN23. Change a. Within ticket validity, the fare/tax/booking service charge differences and reissue charge, including over-counter charge, shall be waived once provided that booking class/Carrier/Routing (City) remains unchanged, or any TWN-EUR v.v. flights operated by CI with the same RBD is booked. Flights operated by CI/AE shall not be rebooked to codeshare flights or other airlines flights. Ticket issued on CI website please contact the branch office or Call Center to change the booking. b. Within ticket validity, if the above item is not applicable, the difference of fare/tax caused by the change of the booking class/itinerary should be paid by the passenger. The booking service charge difference and reissue charge, including the over-counter charge, shall be waived once. Refund a. For totally unused tickets: Full refund can be performed without imposing any refund charge/penalty. b. For partially used tickets: Refund charge can be waived. c. Chargeable seats and Prepaid excess baggage can be fully refunded. d. Original tickets issued via the CI website, call centers, and the branch offices can apply for a refund via CI Website. Group / Discount Tickets Discount tickets do not apply to the principles above. For group tickets, please contact your travel agency. No Show Fee No show fee shall be waived provided that passengers are denied boarding their flights at airports due to suspected infection of pneumonia or respiratory syndrome. -
