China Airlines Partners with Michelin Bib Gourmand-listed Restaurant MoonMoonFood to Bring the Sky with the Flavors of Taiwan
Published: Mar 26, 2025China Airlines (CAL), a Taiwan-based carrier, announced partnership with MoonMoonFood, the top brand of Chinese tonic soups and a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant for seven consecutive years, to bring delicious Taiwanese classics to the skies. Beginning April 1st, heart-warming dishes with a local touch will be served to travelers in Premium Business/Business and Economy Class on selected regional routes.
As part of the ongoing effort to offer a superior flying experience, CAL continues to recruit top food and beverage brands to enrich its in-flight catering services. Guided by its core philosophy of “only the best for you and your family”, MoonMoonFood uses only the finest Taiwanese ingredients. The restaurant’s commitment to health and great taste complements the CAL philosophy. The latest collaboration with MoonMoonFood focuses on the development of exclusive Chinese-style soup noodles and meals adapted to the in-flight environment. The home-style broths will not only warm the hearts of travelers but also introduce the great flavors of Taiwan to the world.
The premium soup noodle set for Premium Business/Business class co-developed by CAL and MoonMoonFood will be offered on flights departing from Taiwan for Seoul Incheon, Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, Singapore, Beijing, Shanghai Pudong and Shanghai Hongqiao. The first wave will feature Grated Yam and Chicken Soup Aspic with Yuzu Flavored Abalone as the entrée to awaken the taste buds. The main of Pickled Mustard Green, Pork and Scallop Noodle Soup is based on MoonMoonFood’s signature chicken soup. The fusion of sour and savory flavors from pickled mustard greens and scallops in the soup noodles served with fine-grained pork makes an excellent appetizer. Dessert features Peeled Chili Pepper Bun with a filling made from Moon MoonFood’s famous Peeled Chili Pepper. The juicy and spicy filling is guaranteed to be an addictive pleasure. The menus will change seasonally. The Sliced Tender Chicken Spring Salad entrée, the Abalone and White Pepper Chicken Soup and Fresh Scallop and Chicken Noodle Soup mains, and the Truffle Turnip Cake will delight every traveler with the rich flavors of home.
For flights from Taiwan to Japan, excluding Okinawa, Ishigaki, and Kagoshima, the Economy Class menu will initially feature Stir-fried Black Truffle Beef with Steamed Rice. The enticing, rich, and salty fragrance of MoonMoonFood’s classic Black Truffle Paste is the star ingredient of this dish. More diverse mains will be introduced later, including the retro Taiwanese classic Sliced Chicken with Green Onion Sauce Over Steamed Rice, and the sweet and spicy Peeled Chili Pepper Chicken and Rice. Each main will offer travelers a different and unique feast for the taste buds.
