China Airlines (CAL), a Taiwan-based carrier, launched its “Zootopia 2” themed livery plane on November 19, celebrating a dazzling inaugural flight from Taipei to Los Angeles. Beloved characters Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps made a surprise appearance, delighting more than a hundred employees and their families as cheers filled the celebration.

The aircraft, China Airlines’ first Disney-themed livery plane, is operated by 777-300ER, bringing a touch of charm from the exterior all the way into the cabin. The enchantment begins the moment travelers check in, with themed boarding passes, baggage name and address tags, headrest covers, tray mats, mixed snacks, cups and coasters. In-flight entertainment also includes the first Zootopia film. Exterior artwork showcases Nick Wilde, Judy Hopps, Gary De’Snake, Nibbles Maplestick and Flash, carrying the film’s spirit of friendship and adventure to new heights.

China Airlines Chairman Kao Shing-Hwang and President Kevin Chen joined John Hsu, The Walt Disney Company Asia-Pacific head of studio distribution and operations, to celebrate the debut. China Airlines combines storytelling and creativity to create a joyful experience inspired by Disney’s latest animated feature, Zootopia 2. The themed livery plane will primarily serve the Los Angeles route, with plans to expand to Ontario, Bangkok, Tokyo and Osaka, aiming to bring happiness to travelers of all ages.

Exclusive Toys for Young Travelers

To make the journey even more memorable, China Airlines offers themed in-flight items and exclusive toys for children. Inspired by the film’s characters, the collection includes colorful stickers and a balloon modeled after the aircraft. Kids can create sticker art or enjoy the balloon that inflates into a mini airplane—playful and perfect for little hands.
