Blast Off with Taiwan in 2016 as China Airlines Officially Launches the Airbus A350
In 2016, China Airlines will launch yet another breakthrough in its NexGen fleet with the introduction of the brand new Airbus A350-900 XWB (Xtra Wide Body). This medium-to-long haul NexGen aircraft will be the first of its kind in the Taiwan aviation industry. The initial A350 aircraft will start assembly in January 2016 with an estimated delivery date in July. For the first time, China Airlines will work with the Taipei City Government during the New Years’ celebrations to invite Major League pitcher, Wei-Yin Chen, as a special guest. He will lead the audience to come fly with China Airlines in its new A350 and into the promising new year of 2016.
The Airbus A350 is known to be the most technologically advanced, environmentally friendly, energy efficient, and spacious aircraft. 70% of the plane’s fuselage is made up of the most advanced carbon fiber composite materials, titanium, and other metal alloys. These materials effectively minimize the aircraft’s weight, which increases flight safety and significantly reduces fuel consumption, making it the world’s most fuel-efficient aircraft. China Airlines will introduce fourteen A350 aircraft. The cabin design will continue to incorporate NexGen design spirit with creative, youthful, and modern elements. China Airlines will receive the A350 in July, which will provide a whole new experience for the five senses. Passengers will travel comfortably, as if they are staying in a boutique hotel but 30,000 feet in the air.
In April of 2015, China Airlines invited Wei-Yin Chen to star in a commercial about the NexGen Premium Economy Class, which was warmly received by the public. This time China Airlines and Wei-Yin Chen have collaborated again to promote the new A350 aircraft. During the New Year celebration at Taipei City Hall, Wei-Yin Chen will make the symbolic first pitch. The A350 and Taiwan will take off together under the eye-catching, colorful fireworks of Taipei 101, but also be witness to China Airlines commitment to innovative change. 2016 will be an exciting year for China Airlines.
To give the public a quick glance at the new A350, China Airlines built a 1:50 scale model (150cm*150cm), which is a first in Taiwan at this size. The model shows an exterior body with sleek lines and windows illuminated to display the beauty of night flying. In addition, the interior is made visible with the new cabin design revealed for the first time. The mini seats, entertainment system, carpeting, restrooms, and the Sky Lounge are remarkably lifelike. Starting today, until January 14, 2016, the scale model will be on display for public viewing in the main lobby of Taipei City Hall. For the chance to win a A350 limited edition souvenir, visitors can take a picture with the scale model and upload it to the China Airlines’ Facebook page. (2015/12/28)
