- You may redeem awards based on the mileage accumulated in your account. When you redeem awards, you are able to transfer the award to yourself or transfer it to a relative or friend (Please refer to Award Transfer).

- Not applicable for: Routes served with charter flights, and some routes code-shared with partner airlines, e.g., Songshan - Haneda flights code-shared with Japan Airlines and operated by Japan Airlines.
- Redemption for Premium Economy Class and Premium Business Class Ticket awards are only available for flights providing Premium Economy class and Premium Business class service.
- The miles levels required is based on applicable routes not by the aircraft.

- You may redeem awards by using self-owned mileage or awards transferred by your relative or friend.
- To protect your benefits, please contact the Mandarin Airlines Customer Service Call Center to make an award ticket reservation first, and then go to the Mandarin Airlines airport counter to issue an award ticket.
- For domestic award tickets, the tickets should be separated with international flights, and ticket issuance is only available at Mandarin Airlines airport counters, or Mandarin Airlines downtown ticketing office at Taipei.
- Please using the name shown on the passport when making a reservation. Be sure to bring passengers’passport for the check-in at airport.
- To refund domestic award tickets, a handling fee of TWD100 will be charged. Please contact Mandarin Airlines Service Call Center.
- Award tickets are not permitted to travel during the Chinese New Year.For details about other embargo periods, please see "Ticket information" on Mandarin Airlines website.
Redemption Procedures
- Members should make sure they have sufficient mileage or applicable award number. One award ticket can issued with one award number only.
- To issue award tickets of international scheduled flights operated by China Airlines or Mandarin Airlines with self-owned mileages , members may issue award tickets with using our online service function “Award Ticket”.
- To issue award tickets of international scheduled flights operated by China Airlines or Mandarin Airlines with an award number , members may issue award tickets with using our online service function “Transferred Award Ticket Issuance”.
- For international award tickets, only international scheduled flights operated by China Airlines or Mandarin Airlines are acceptable.
- When using an award ticket and traveling with infant, please purchase an applicable infant fare ticket for the accompanying infant.
Points to Note
- The origin and stopover or turnaround point(destination) of an award ticket itinerary are not permitted in the same area. Excluding Taiwan, China Airlines' destinations can be categorized into following 6 areas: Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia (including Delhi and Guam), Mainland China (including Hong Kong), America, Oceania, Europe. Chart below is for your reference.

- For either one-way or round-trip award tickets, no stopover is allowed.
- For reissuing award tickets issued on/before 31Jan2024 that included free stopovers, current award ticket rule and fuel surcharge, tax or any other surcharges will apply on the date of reissuance.
- A round trip award ticket may have one open jaw for each direction, and the two ends of an open jaw must be in the same area. Members should be responsible for transportation between the two ends of an open jaw.

Term Definition Turnaround point Turnaround is the destination of the journey. The journey from a turnaround point going back to the origin considers as return. Transfer point A transfer point is between the origin and the destination or the turnaround point which passengers stay for less than 24 hours. Stopover A stopover is a deliberate interruption of a journey by the passenger, scheduled to exceed 24 hours, at a point between the place of departure and the place of final destination. Open Jaw 1. Open-jaw travel means returning to the same origin from a different city after arriving at a destination, or returning to a different city after arriving at a destination, or both situations above.
2. The two ends of an open jaw must be in the same area(see remark).
Remark: Excluding Taiwan, China Airlines' destinations can be categorized into following 6 areas for open-jaw travel: Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia (including Delhi and Guam), Mainland China (including Hong Kong), America, Oceania. - The relevant taxes and additional charges (such as fuel surcharges, etc.) are all borne by the ticket holder.
- Required mileage of an award ticket is based on long-haul flight if the itinerary includes both short and long-haul flights. If the cabin class of long-haul flight is not available in short-haul flight because of aircraft configuration, cabin class of short-haul flight will be one class lower than long-haul flight. If itinerary of an award ticket includes different cabin classes, required mileage will be based on the higher cabin class.
- Award tickets are valid for one year from the date of issuance and must be used throughout the validity period. An award ticket holder cannot obtain a class upgrade by paying the fare difference or using upgrade award. Award tickets cannot include segments of other fare family.
- An award ticket does not include free accommodation (Day Use and STPC) during flight transfer.
- Award tickets are not eligible for itinerary between Guam and U.S. via Taipei.
- China Airlines will notify members of amendments to ticket award qualifications made in accordance with adjustments in cabin configuration or short-term promotions via other means (including Member News, Membership & Mileage Statement.)
- China Airlines and Mandarin Airlines reserve the right to limit or adjust the number of award ticket availability subject to the status of booking on each flight. The award ticket seats may not be available, even if seats are available for paid tickets.
- No-Show fee will be imposed on passengers who did did not cancel the reservation 3 hours before the flight took off, and eventually fails to board the flight. A handling fee of USD100 on the long haul ticket, USD50 on the short haul ticket (or the equivalent amount in local currency) will be charged. The most stringent no-show fee rules will apply to whole itinerary, for example, member holding award ticket of TYO-TPE-LAX and no show on TYO-TPE sector, USD100 of no show fee will be collected.
- The ticketing and use of Award Tickets shall comply with tariffs and charges, ticket conditions. Also use of Award Tickets is subject to operating carrier's General Conditions of Carriage, and the rules and terms of Dynasty Flyer Program.

- A handling fee of TWD1,500 (or the equivalent amount in local currency) will be charged for the name change.
- A handling fee of TWD1,500 (or the equivalent amount in local currency) will be charged for reissuing an award ticket. Members requesting award ticket reissuance are responsible for all related taxes or any other surcharges and fuel surcharge and tax will be priced again based on the date of re-issuance.
- To reissue an award ticket, please contact China Airlines Customer Service Call Center or Branch Offices prior to departure. Airport ticketing counters and China Airlines website are not available.
- The service fee will be waived for an award ticket of a member with Paragon at the time of application.
- Award ticket can not be endorsed to other airlines . Once any part of an award ticket has been used, reissuance is not acceptable.
- Application for Award Tickets refund can be submitted online via CI website -Manage Booking/Refund Tickets option, or please contact China Airlines branch offices. Airport ticketing counters are not available.
- To refund a totally unused award ticket, a handling fee of TWD1,500 (or the equivalent amount in local currency) will be charged. If the award number is still within validity, the owner of the award number can issue a new award ticket or requests to cancel the award number to regain miles. In the case of regaining miles, miles still valid on the refund date will be returned to the nominator's account from which the miles were deducted for the award number. If the award number is expired, which means a new award ticket cannot be issued and miles cannot be returned, only unused tax will be returned and no handling fee will be charged.
