Baggage Irregularity Handling
Most of the delayed baggage delivery is a result of missed connections at the transfer point. In such cases, your baggage will be delivered to your destination via the next flight and be returned to you as soon as possible.
- If your checked baggage is missing, delivered late, or damaged, please report the incident to our local airport office or ground handling agent immediately upon arrival. We will help you complete a Baggage Irregularity Report to help us promptly track your baggage and provide relevant services.
- Damaged baggage should be reported and examined at the airport immediately upon arrival. If, for some reason, it is impossible for you to report immediately, you may submit your claim in writing to our local airport office within 7 days. Please note that China Airlines shall not assume any liability to pay compensation for minor damages that are caused to your checked baggage during normal transportation. Please refer to the Liability Release Notice for Checked Baggage for more details.
- If the content of your checked baggage is partially or wholly missing, it should be reported at the airport immediately upon arrival. If it fails to be reported upon arrival, it can still be reported to our local airport office within 7 days. Claims received after this deadline will be dismissed.
- If your trip involves more than one carriers, please follow International Air Transport Association (IATA) practices and contact your trip's last carrier for any delayed delivery, damage, or missing baggage problems
