Signifying an evolution of the China Airlines brand, the design of the A321neo cabin maintains the visual foundation of Asian aesthetics. This combination showcases the unique natural landscapes and deep emotional connection between customers and the airline.
The use of persimmon wood grain within the cabin entryways of its new generation fleets of B777 and A350 aircraft, creates an instantly recognizable feature to passengers that is unique to the China Airlines cabin experience. On the new A321neo cabin, this persimmon wood is combined with a natural stone finish that has a crafted application of gradient colors supplemented with reflective metallic screen-printing. Flying inspires and awakens our imagination and is the beginning of a journey. China Airlines uses the oriental persimmon metaphorically as a byword of “everything is wishfulness", while also using the meaning of butterfly in local pronunciation of "Fu Dia" meaning to bless every arriving passenger to have a wonderful journey.
As customers board the plane, they will be taking their first step into a cabin that has been designed and inspired by the sights and experiences of a walk through the landscapes. The journey begins at the entryway, with a picturesque mountain landscape filled with forests, butterflies, and shimmering light. When entering the business class cabin the inspired journey continues, drawing influences from a mountain teahouse, with a sense of calmness and an atmosphere of elegance. The journey then moves through nature into a vibrant city for the economy cabin. The energy and visual excitement of the city has inspired a new economy cabin design concept that offers customers a series of surprises and storytelling through a combination of its color palette, surfaces, and delightful functionality.
