The all-new China Airlines Pikachu Jet CI2, the first A350 liveried aircraft to feature the Pokémon theme in Taiwan, made its inaugural flight from Taoyuan to Tokyo (Narita) on April 2. Pilot Pikachu, Pikachu and Dragonite made a surprise appearance to meet with travelers, while Chairman Kao, Shing-Hwang and President Kevin Chen of China Airlines as well as Susumu Fukunaga, Corporate Officer of The Pokémon Company, joined travelers in witnessing the historic first flight of Pikachu Jet CI2.

For the inaugural China Airlines Pikachu Jet CI2 flight, the boarding gate was decked out in Pokémon themed decorations, with the large balloon in particular becoming the focus of everyone's attention. Young and old alike flocked to have their photos taken in front of the themed back wall; the exclusive commemorative photos will provide them with unforgettable memories. The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the arrival of Pilot Pikachu, Pikachu, and Dragonite for a meet and greet with travelers that was totally off the charts in sheer cuteness. Dragonite is not only the Pokémon mascot of Pokémon Center TAIPEI but also a key Pokémon character on the China Airlines Pikachu Jet CI2, painted boldly across the tail of the aircraft to join travelers in their journey across the skies.

Thirteen Pokémon are featured on the China Airlines Pikachu Jet CI2. These characters are portrayed along with the beauty of Taiwanese floral tiles to present a fun and distinctive livery design. Whether admiring the livery on the fuselage or searching for surprises, everything from boarding passes and luggage tags to head rest covers, pillow covers, dining tray mats, paper napkins, mixed snack, themed paper cups, and kids meal box will transport passengers to a themed wonderland in the sky. China Airlines has even produced a special boarding video to welcome travelers aboard their aerial adventure with the Pokémon. The aircraft will initially be assigned to the Taoyuan-Tokyo and Taoyuan-Seattle routes. Travelers are invited to fly across the world on the liveried aircraft for an unforgettable journey filled with joy and laughter.
