Introduction of In-Town Check-in service

IN-TOWN CHECK-IN SERVICE AT AIRPORT EXPRESS HONG KONG MTR STATION

  • Service Location:Hong Kong MTR Station (1, Harbour View Street Central, Hong Kong)

  • Service Hours:Daily from 09:00 to 18:00

  • Service Scope:
    1. Passengers traveling on flights operated by China Airlines or Mandarin Airlines departing from Hong Kong Airport (excluding code-share flights operated by other airlines).
    2. Passengers can obtain boarding passes via the website, App, or Kiosk, and then check in baggage using the Self Baggage Drop machine.
    3. Baggage drop-off is available between 24 hours and 90 minutes prior to the scheduled flight departure.
    4. The longest side of checked baggage must not exceed 70cm, and the sum of length, width, and height must not exceed 158cm.
    5. If passengers are unable to complete self-check-in to obtain their boarding pass and baggage tag, the fee paid for the MTR Airport Express ticket will not be refunded. For more information, please visit the MTR website.

  • Notes on Self-Check-In Service:
    1. Passengers requiring special assistance must proceed to Hong Kong Airport for check-in. This includes: excess baggage, upgrade awards, corporate/status card benefits, unaccompanied minors, cabin seat baggage, stretcher or wheelchair services, and staff travel tickets.
    2. Passengers who have dropped off baggage at MTR Hong Kong Station but wish to retrieve it for any reason must proceed to the China Airlines service counters at Hong Kong Airport to complete the return procedure.
    3. To comply with Civil Aviation Regulations and ensure safety, passengers selecting emergency exit seats must collect their boarding pass at the airport counter for visual verification.
    4. Passengers who have not obtained a self-printed or electronic boarding pass are not eligible for this service.

  • Notes on Self Baggage Drop Service:
    1. The Self Baggage Drop service accepts standard luggage only. Miscellaneous items such as cartons, umbrellas, backpacks, soft hand-carry bags, and strollers/baby carriages are not accepted.
    2. If your luggage is damaged, contains fragile goods, or requires special handling, please proceed to the airport for check-in.
    3. Passengers with oversize or overweight luggage must check in at the airport.
    4. If your frequent flyer number was not provided during booking, please add it now to ensure your membership rights are protected.
    5. For "First Priority" or "SkyPriority" tags, or if you are eligible for priority baggage handling, we recommend using the staffed check-in counters at the airport to ensure proper tagging and handling.
    6. If the Self Baggage Drop service is unavailable or if you fall under the following restrictions, please check in at the airport:
     - Itineraries including domestic sectors (except for connecting flights via US routes).
     - Itineraries with more than 3 transit sectors (e.g., HKG-TPE-BKK-AMS-CPH).
     - Travel involving separate tickets (two or more booklets).
     - Interline check-in unavailability due to system errors.
    7. Reminder: All passengers arriving in the United States must claim their checked luggage and clear customs at the first point of entry.
    8. To minimize waiting time, passengers using Self-Check-in or Self Baggage Drop should contact ground staff for document verification immediately upon arrival at the airport.

  • Special Assistance:
    To ensure appropriate service, please check in at the China Airlines / Mandarin Airlines counters at Hong Kong Airport if you belong to any of the following groups:
    1. Wheelchair passengers (See Remarks).
    2. Stretcher passengers.
    3. Unaccompanied minors or adolescents.
    4. Passengers who have purchased cabin seats for baggage (CBBG).
    5. Deportees (with or without escorts).
    6. Passengers with portable oxygen generators (POC).
    7. Passengers requiring airline-supplied oxygen.
    8. Passengers traveling with service animals (e.g., guide dogs).
    9. Passengers traveling with live animals (AVI).
    10. Passengers with checked baggage exceeding 70cm on the longest side or 158cm in total dimensions (e.g., cartons, cellos, windsurfing equipment, bicycles, golf equipment).
    Remarks: Wheelchair passengers may use the self-service check-in at MTR Hong Kong Station, but wheelchair assistance is only available upon arrival at Hong Kong Airport.
