Handling Guidelines for cancellation or schedule change over 3 hours of CI/AE operated flights affected by Typhoon TAPAH 7 Sep, 2025
Application CI/AE Flight — cancellation, delay or advance over 3 hours Eligibility Passengers holding CI/AE valid tickets issued on/before 06SEP25 with confirmed bookings with confirmed bookings to/from HongKong/ShenZhen/GuangZhou on affect flights, must submit applications on/before 07DEC25 (Change regulations are applicable to Dynasty Flyer Program Award Ticket). Change a.Within ticket validity and subject to applicable regulations, the reissue fee/reissue service charge/booking service charge/tax/fuel surcharge/fare difference could be waived once provided that the itinerary/booking class remain unchanged and the new flight date falls within 14 days prior to/after the affected flight.
b. Please contact the branch office or Call Center to change the booking for tickets issued on CI website. If tickets were purchased from a travel agency, please inquire with the travel agent for the relevant assistance.Refund a. For totally unused tickets: Full refund can be performed without imposing any refund charge/penalty. b. For partially used tickets: Refund charge can be waived. c. Chargeable seats and Pre-paid excess baggage can be fully refunded. d. Original tickets issued via the CI website, call centers, and the branch offices can apply for a refund via CI Website. Phnom Penh International Airport (PNH) will officially relocate to Techo International Airport (KTI) on September 9, 2025. 1 Aug, 2025Starting from September 9, 2025, all China Airlines flights operating to and from Phnom Penh (PNH) will change their departure and arrival airport to Techo International Airport (KTI).
If your travel date is after September 9, 2025, please select Techo International Airport (KTI) as your departure or arrival airport when booking your flight. If you are planning to travel with China Airlines to and from Phnom Penh (PNH) and your return date is after the airport closure, please use the "Multi-city and Stopover" feature to select Techo International Airport (KTI) as your return airport.
The Cambodian government has announced that Phnom Penh International Airport (PNH) will cease operations at 23:59 local time on September 8, 2025.

Starting from October 1, 2025, the Taiwan Arrival Card will be fully transitioned to online submission. 22 Jul, 2025The National Immigration Agency now provides an online Taiwan Arrival Card (TWAC) for foreign nationals. Starting from October 1, 2025, all submissions will be required to be completed online.
Travelers may fill out the form within 3 days prior to their arrival in Taiwan to help reduce immigration clearance waiting time. Foreign nationals who meet the eligibility requirements are encouraged to make use of this service.

Effective June 19, 2025, China Airlines has begun code-sharing with Mandarin Airlines on Kaohsiung routes to and from Bangkok (Certain days of week, CI839/CI840) and Singapore (CI757/CI758). The code-sharing will expand on July 14, 2025, to include Kaohsiung routes to and from Manila (CI711/CI712). These routes will be operated by Boeing 737-800 aircraft in Mandarin Airlines livery, providing greater convenience for travelers in southern Taiwan.

Handling Guidelines for to/from Europe tickets caused by Conflict between India and Pakistan 7 May, 2025
Application CI/AE flights cancellation/irregularity time over 2 hours to/from Europe caused by Conflict Between India and Pakistan Eligibility Passengers holding CI/AE valid tickets with confirmed bookings to/from Europe on/after 06May (Change regulations are applicable to Dynasty Flyer Program Award Ticket) Change The reissue fee/reissue service charge/booking service charge/tax/fuel surcharge/fare difference could be waived once under following circumstances.
(a) Date change : Passenger could rebook to the nearest available flight with the same origin, destination and booking class within the ticket validity. Unless otherwise stipulated by applicable regulations, priority will be given to CI/AE operated flights when changing reservations.
(b) Reissue with interline segments : Priority for the long-haul sector will be accorded to CI/AE operated flights with the same booking class, followed by connections with our cooperated interline partners, and shall be handled in accordance with applicable regulations.
(c) Please contact the branch office or Call Center to change the booking for tickets issued on CI website. If tickets were purchased from a travel agency, please inquire with the travel agent for the relevant assistance.Refund a. China Airlines has activated the relevant protocols in response to the force majeure /extraordinary circumstance caused by the Indo-Pakistani conflict. To ensure the safety of all travelers, crew members, and aircraft within the area affected by this international situation, the following flight changes have been made after an expert assessment:
Flights CI61 (Taoyuan - Frankfurt) and CI73 (Taoyuan - Amsterdam) on May 6 were diverted to Bangkok where they received a change of crew and refueled before returning to Taipei. These flights will continue onto their original destination once a new route is planned to avoid the affected region. Flights CI67 (Taoyuan - Prague) and CI75 (Taoyuan - Rome) on May 6 have been canceled. Flight CI82 (London - Taoyuan) on May 6 was diverted to Prague where it received a change of crew and refueled before returning to Taoyuan. Flight CI81 (Taoyuan - London) on May 7 has been canceled.
