Destination Taiwan! China Airlines Welcomes First Visa-Free Tour Group Visit from Thailand

เผยแพร่เมื่อ: ส.ค. 01, 2559

A trial of visa-free travel for Thai citizens visiting Taiwan starts today (August 1). China Airlines has partnered with the Taipei City Department of Information and Tourism to invite the first visa-free tour group made up of Thai tourism operators, media, celebrities and bloggers to fly from Bangkok to Taiwan on China Airlines flight CI066. The 4-day tour will explore the boulevards and alleys of Taipei to discover the fashionable, the cultural, the nostalgic and the traditional side of Taiwan all in one go.

China Airlines previously supported the “New Southward Policy” of the Taiwan government by inviting Thai superstar rock band “Slot Machine” to visit Taiwan and promote Taiwan tourism. This time, China Airlines welcomes a tour group led by Miss Thailand, Saowalak Jaisirtanya. As a fluent Mandarin speaker with both Taiwanese and Thai ancestry, she is the perfect ambassador to show the group the famous scenic spots, promoting a fusion of the old and new in local Taiwanese culture, and encouraging more Thai visitors to Taiwan.

The rapid economic development of Southeast Asia in recent years has led to an increase in their buying power. The government is actively working to attract more Southeast Asia visitors to Taiwan. China Airlines currently operates 154 flights a week on Southeast Asia routes. The Thailand route (including code share flights) connects to seven destinations including Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Samui, Chiang Rai, Krabi and Koh Chang, with 26 Taipei/Kaohsiung-Bangkok flights a week. Due to the government’s new visa-free policy for Thai citizens traveling to Taiwan, the load factor is expected to increase by at least 20%. China Airlines plans to offer more dynasty packages in Thailand that will win over Thais to the Taiwan tourism market through unique itineraries. (2016/08/01)
