Transit Requirements


Transiting through
Tao-Yuan Int'l Airport
(Transit via Taiwan will be temporarily suspended.)
  • Transit passengers are required to fly with China Airlines or Mandarin Airlines on all routes. However, all transit services at Taoyuan airport are prohibited until further notice.
  • Passengers will escort by airlines staff and remain in restricted area during transit;
  • Passengers shall meet the entry requirements of their final destination;
  • Passengers shall cooperate with epidemic prevention policy during whole journey;
  • All transit passengers are required to provide a certificate of a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test result issued within three days prior to boarding the flight to Taiwan.

Remarks


  1. Departs from Taiwan :
    • All passengers (including Taiwanese) taking flights from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan to Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Xiamen are required to present the COVID-19 negative test result within 72 hours prior to departure. Please be reminded not to use the test name other than 「COVID-19」 or 「Coronavirus」. Any other test name may result in denied boarding or deportation.
    Departs from Mainland China :
    • Passengers (including Taiwanese) taking flight from Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu to Taiwan are required to present the COVID-19 negative test result within 72 hours prior to departure.
    • Starting at 0:00 on September 14, 2021, passengers(including Taiwanese) who depart Xiamen and return to Taiwan must present the COVID-19 negative test result issued within 48 hours before departure and health Green code.
  2. All passengers (Taiwanese nationals or foreign nationals with ARC) coming to Taiwan  are required to provide a certificate of a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test result issued within three days (flight schedule time) prior to boarding the flight to Taiwan. Passenger shall provided relevant documents (ex passport) to prove PCR test report belong to the traveler.
    Please note the following certificate requirements:
    • Passenger name (identical to passport name)
    • Date of birth (or passport number)
    • Date of the specimen was taken for test
    • Test methods: PCR, real-time PCR, RT-PCR, RT-qPCR(Quantitative Reverse Transcription PCR), NAA (nucleic acid amplification), NAAT (nucleic acid amplification test), NAT (nucleic acid test), LAMP(Loop/Mediated isothermal Amplification)COVID-19 RNA test, SARS-CoV-2 RNA or molecular diagnostics indicating a negative or undetectable test result.
    • Date of test report issued
    • In English or Chinese or other local languages (if it can be verified by local airport team at point of check-in)
    • Electronic or physical copy are acceptable
  3. According to Taiwan CDC announced that the health monitoring of international port arrivals will be strengthened from 12:00 PM on July 02 ,2021,including:
    (1) Inbound passengers with a history of "high-risk countries" in India, U.K, Israel, Indonesia, Myanmar, including transit within 14 days should stay in a centralized quarantine station at public expense for 14 days ,and do the PCR test on the first day of arrival and the last day of the quarantine period.And use home test kit to do the test on 10th to 12th day of the quarantine period.
    (2) From 0:00 on September 25, 2021 (flight arrival time), Inbound passengers who have history of travel to Peru, Bangladesh, Brazil (including transit) within the past 14 days, or those who do not have history of travel in "high-risk countries" within 14 days(including transit) are required to do a throat saliva and PCR testing upon arrival. Also to take an epidemic prevention convoy to the quarantine hotel or stay at the centralized quarantine station at their own expense for 14 days.Passengers will do the PCR test on 12th to 14th days of quarantine,also use home test kit to do the test on 10th to 12th day of the quarantine period.
    (3) All passengers who tested positive were sequenced with virus genes.
    And CDC stressed that should take the initiative to cooperate with the border to strengthen monitoring measures when they arrive in Taiwan, and accordance with the mode of transportation prescribed by the command center and with the follow-up epidemic prevention-related measures.
  4. Since January 24,2021(TPE time GMT+8), all travelers who do not arrange the quarantine places of entering Taiwan will be rejected for boarding.
  5. Since 19May (local time at the place of departure) till CDC announce cancelled, Non-R.O.C. nationals without a valid Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) will be temporarily barred from entry.
  6. Starting from 13 September 2021,Taiwanese spouses and minor children will be allowed to apply for dependents and visit family visa during the period of strict border control.
