Published: May 17, 2016

China Airlines took delivery of its 10th new 777-300ER aircraft on May 16, 2016, Seattle local time. The new aircraft is slated to arrive at Taoyuan International Airport at 7 pm on May 17. It will start flying the Frankfurt and North American routes in late May with the Taipei-New York service gradually increasing to five flights a week after May 16 while the Taipei-Frankfurt service will be increased to seven flights a week after Jun 1.

The partnership between China Airlines and Boeing goes back more than half a century. Boeing has played a critical role in the growth and expansion of China Airlines over the years from the 707, 727, 737, 767 and 747 to the new 777-300ER now being delivered. This year marks the 100th anniversary of Boeing so China Airlines has partnered with Boeing once again to give the 10th 777 an aircraft livery that is most representative of both companies. The China Airlines "Red Plum Blossom" tailfin with its graduated tones has been combined with the distinctive blue and white fuselage of Boeing to convey a sense of strength and subtlety. This is the first China Airlines-Boeing co-branded liveried aircraft since the Boeing Dreamliner 747 in 2004. It not only comes as a delightful surprise to aviation enthusiasts but is also of great symbolic significance as well.

China Airlines has unveiled 12 liveried aircraft over the years and nine have been based on Boeing aircraft. The range of livery now include the Boeing Dreamliner, Lavender, China Airlines 50th Anniversary, SkyTeam Alliance, Love & Hug by Jimmy, and China Airlines-Boeing.

The 10 new Boeing 777-300ER passenger aircraft being introduced by China Airlines offer passengers a completely new flying experience. Apart from a cabin design that fuses Asian aesthetics with modern technology, the novel in-flight experience offered to passengers has won much praise domestically and overseas. The innovative and unique cabin design of China Airlines' NexGen 777 has got praise from Boeing as well. The China Airlines 777 fleet now operates on the New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Frankfurt routes bringing a unique and sophisticated cultural experience to the world thanks to industry-leading design concepts.
