Roam the World with “Animal Travelers” in the China Airlines 2024 Calendar
Published: Oct 12, 2023China Airlines, the Taiwan based carrier, has unveiled its 2024 calendar with the “Live Your Travel Fantasies” theme. For the first time, “animal travelers” serve as guides to famous destinations around the world. The entire calendar is an illustrated travel book that ignites both the imagination and the desire to explore the wonders of the world. China Airlines has partnered once again with Kyo Chen, the well-known illustrator, to combine the main visuals made up of real-world photos with twelve adorable, hand-drawn characters inspired by each location. These characters correspond to twelve locations across Asia, the Americas, Europe, and Oceania served by China Airlines. The breathtaking scenery highlights local culture and makes every month a fairytale to be explored.
The photographic guides, the Formosan Black Bear and the Crested Tern from Matsu visit the Blue Tears, one of the fifteen wonders of the world, signaling the start of the new year in Taiwan. In February, they fly to Danang in Vietnam and stop by the Phong Nkha Ke Bang national park, a World Heritage Site, where they take in the unusual landscape with the Golden Monkey. As the weather warms in May, they fly to Prague in the Czech Republic to tour the plazas of the Old Town and admire the craftsmanship of the Astronomical Clock with the clever Fox.
During the summer months of July and August, they meet up with the California Grizzly Bear in San Francisco, USA, for a trip to Yosemite National Park and to commune with nature. They travel with the Tapir, the national animal of Malaysia with red flowers on its head, to check out the Chew Jetty in Penang and experience life on the water. November is the time to tour Chiang Mai with the Elephant, the national symbol of Thailand, to pray for good fortune at the White Temple where religion, art and culture come together. December marks a month of festive greetings as they climb onto the Kototoi Bridge with the ginger cat from Japanese literature and look forward to the new year with the Tokyo Skytree Tower in the distance.
The new calendar comes with several hidden nuggets. The Formosan Black Bear on the cover page, the Little Blue Penguins of Melbourne in March, and the Elephant of Chiang Mai in November are all wearing the new “Sustainable Lifesaver Pack” released by China Airlines this year. The stylish, eye-catching and practical accessory is a perfect match for the animal travelers and convey the sustainability message of China Airlines in an ingenious way.
The China Airlines 2024 wall and desktop calendars share the same visual design but incorporate different layouts and functions to enhance their practicality and visual appeal. China Airlines calendars are giveaways only and are lauded as classics in the airline industry. The illustrated style of the 2024 calendar will make them an instant collectible once again. China Airlines hopes the calendars will inspire our partners so that they can join us in roaming the world in their own way. (2023/10/12)
