China Airlines wins 2017 Global Views Five-Star Service Award

The Five-Star Service Award of the Global Views magazine is often considered the “Oscar of the Taiwanese service industry.” The results for 2017 were released on November 30th and China Airlines was named the winner of the international aviation category in recognition of its outstanding quality of service.


A “front-line service quality survey” is organized by the Global Views magazine every year with mystery survey agents visiting the business premises of Taiwan's top 20 service industries. The evaluation is conducted over a period of nearly six months and is considered one of the top challenges in Taiwan's service industry each year. Chairman Nuan-hsuan Ho had this to say on China Airlines winning out over other competitors: “Service must always continue to service. The front-line service staff at China Airlines are trained to rigorous standards. “Patience” and “Compassion” are just part of the secret to winning over passengers by providing them with touching service that exceed their expectations.”


The philosophy of customer service "we treasure each encounter" can be found everywhere in China Airlines. When passengers did not have the necessary documents to travel overseas, ground staff actively liaised with the relevant units until the family trip could go ahead; when the travel agent forgot to book children’s meals, the cabin crew used other meals to put together a special children's menu that turned what might have been a disappointing journey into a pleasant surprise. From customer service to the airport and in-flight services, the professionalism and empathy of China Airlines delivers the hospitality and heart-warming service that Taiwan is famous just when the passenger needs it.


China Airlines received numerous domestic and international accolades in 2017, including the International Trophy at the 128th Rose Parade in the US, 2017 Cheers Magazine “Top 20 Employers”, "Gold Trusted Brand" of Reader’s Digest Asia for 19 consecutive years, 2017 Air Cargo Excellence Award from the Air Cargo World magazine, the 2017 TCSA Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Award, and the APEX Awards for Publication Excellence for the Dynasty in-flight magazine.
