China Airlines Wins 4th TCSA Award

China Airlines was presented with the “TCSA Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Award” for the fourth consecutive year on November 23th. Vice President Liu Shyh-hwa of China Airlines’ In-Flight Service Supply Division represented the carrier at the award presentation ceremony. The garnering of the “Taiwan Top 50 Corporate Sustainability Report Award - Gold Award in the Transportation Industry Category”, “Climate Leadership Award” and “Social Inclusion Award” represented recognition of the strong contributions made by China Airlines in sustainable development.

 

As the leader of the aviation industry in Taiwan, China Airlines embraces the spirit of sustainable development and actively supports environmental sustainability initiatives. Since 2007, Environmental sustainability was incorporated in the core operational values resulting in numerous domestic and overseas accolades such as Enterprise Environmental Protection Award and Leadership rating from the Carbon Disclosure Project. From 2014, China Airlines continuously promoted the sustainable management and published Corporate Sustainability Report to propagate company’s concept in order to pursue the goals of “Creating more wonderful moments through flying” and “Preferred Airline in Taiwan.”

 

In 2017, China Airlines completed the only “Aviation Passenger Transportation Service - Carbon Footprint Product Category Rules (PCR)” in Taiwan, became the first corporate group to introduce the “ECOSHINE eco-friendly aircraft cleaning solution”, added two A330-300 aircraft to the Pacific Greenhouse Gases Measurement program, and joined Lufthansa in becoming the airlines with the most number of climate observation aircraft worldwide.

 

In addition to the TCSA awards, China Airlines’ longstanding support for sustainable development saw it become the only transportation company in Taiwan to be included in the “DJSI Emerging Markets Index” for two consecutive years. To fulfill its corporate social responsibility on social justice, China Airlines provides assistance to remote rural areas and seniors living by themselves. The fulfillment of CSR and application of corporate influence help cultivate sustainability through social harmony.
