Enjoy a lazy cup of afternoon tea by the bank of River Thames; ride the London Eye to enjoy the million-dollar night view and visit Harry Potter’s Platform 9 3/4 at King's Cross station. This year, China Airlines will introduce 13-hour non-stop flights to London in December! China Airlines announce today (6/28) that it will begin flying the Taipei-London (Gatwick Airport, LGW) route on December 1. The new A350 fleet will be deployed to offer 4 flights a week, making China Airlines the only airline in Taiwan to offer non-stop flights to London. To celebrate the launching of a new route, China Airlines is now offering Economic Class return air fares (outbound from TPE) starting from TWD 21,000 before tax through its website.
The Taipei-London route CI069/CI070 will depart every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. It will be flown by the latest A350-900 XWB aircraft equipped with 32 Premium Business Class, 31 Premium Economy Class and 243 Economy Class seats. Gatwick is the second largest international airport in the U.K. For transportation downtown, travelers can not only board the frequent airport buses but also take the express train or other train services to London and other major cities in the north and south. Transits and cross-border transportation are within easy reach as well.
From December, travelers who opt to fly direct with China Airlines can save 3 to 7 hours on transit or stop-over time. This brings Taiwan and the U.K. much closer together and is more convenient for travelers; to take advantage of the Open Sky agreement with Australia and strengthen the Oceania network, from December 1 the Taipei-Sydney route will increase to two daily services and Taipei-Brisbane-Auckland will be upgraded to one service each day. The move connects the Oceania and European networks to provide transit customers with more great options.
London is the capital of the U.K. and the largest city in Europe. Sitting astride the River Thames, it is a city steeped in history and culture. London is home to the Tower of London, Royal Botanic Gardens (Kew Gardens), the Parliament and the St Magaret's Church of Westminster Abbey that all four are now World Heritage sites. The Prime Meridian at Greenwich can also be found here. Other famous sights include the Buckingham Palace, London Eye, Baker Street and King's Cross station. The British Museum, National Gallery, Tate Modern and West End theatres are all must-see destinations for travelers from around the world.
To celebrate the new Taipei-London route, China Airlines is offering Early Bird discounts of Premium Economy Class return air fares (outbound from TPE) starting from TWD 32,000 before tax, and Economy Class return air fares (outbound from TPE) starting from TWD 21,000.
