Upgrade Welcome Offer

  1. Member who upgrade to Emerald membership can get upgrade awards which can be used only by the members themselves and cannot be transferred to others.
  2. Member who upgrade to Paragon membership can get upgrade awards which can be used by the members themselves and can be transferred to others.
  3. Please contact the nearest customer service center or branch office for application within upgrade award's validity and follow the service rule below: 
    ． In order to obtain sufficient time for this transfer process, please submit your application at least 2 weeks prior to flight departure. 
    ． Only members in nominee list are applicable for transfer. 
    ． Once an award is transferred to a member, it cannot be transferred again to a third party. 
    ． Airports are not available for this transfer service.
  4. The complimentary upgrade awards for Paragon and Emerald members are applicable for upgrade to Premium Economy Class and to (Premium) Business Class. Please contact the nearest customer service center or branch office for upgrade booking.

Complimentary Gold Card

Paragon members may apply complimentary Gold membership for any family members or friends, who should also be a Dynasty Flyer Program member. Once this courtesy Gold membership is assigned to a member, it cannot be changed until the Paragon membership is renewed.

Please fill out Application Form for Member to Exercise Personal Data Right and tick "Other/Please specify" in Contents of the Application. Then state the purpose is to apply complimentary Gold card with the name and membership number of the member you would like to assign. Photocopy of Paragon member's passport is required and passport signature should be identical with signature on application form. Please click here to download application form.

Convenient Reservation

When making a reservation, you need to only give us your membership card number for an express reservation.

Customer Service Hotline

At certain branch offices, China Airlines provide Paragon, Emerald and Gold members an exclusive service hotline for reservation and fax. Please log in your account to check the number.

Reservation Wait List Priority

  1. If Paragon/Emerald/Gold members (excluding companions) would like to book a flight already full, they can be listed in the priority reservation wait list. When there are available seats present,  members' reservation will be confirmed according to ticket class and membership tiers.
  2. If the requested flight or cabin class is unavailable when the reservation is made, China Airlines may arrange a seat on a flight before or after the requested flight or in another class on the requested flight. After the reservation is confirmed, the ticket used by the member should be consistent with the confirmed cabin class for Paragon and Emerald members. The member shall be responsible for fare difference (if any) caused by such an arrangement.
  3. The reservation wait list priority is not available for the following booking or tickets:
    ． Any reservation made within 72 hours prior to departure
    ． Upgrade award ticket 
    ． Free ticket, discount ticket, group ticket, promotional ticket and barter ticket
    ． Charter flight or code-share flight operated by another airlines

Seat Selection

  1. Paragon and Emerald card holder enjoys the privilege of free seat selection, including all 3 chargeable seat types: Standard, Preferred, and Extra Comfort.
  2. Paragon members can invite up to two companions and Emerald members can invite one companion to enjoy free seat selection respectively. Guidelines are as below:
    • Effective from February 6th, 2023, Paragon members can invite up to two companions to enjoy free seat selection for Standard, Preferred, and Extra Comfort seat.
    • Emerald member can invite one companion to enjoy free seat selection for Standard, Preferred seat.
    • Please contact China Airlines call centers or branch offices for application from the next day of ticket issuance. China Airlines official website and airport counters, In-flight are not available for this service.
    • Companion(s) should be in the same reservation record with Paragon and Emerald members, and tickets should be issued for both parties.
    • Companion(s) holding group tickets (G Class) or tickets issued by other airlines (except Mandarin Airlines tickets) is not eligible for this service.
    • The above mentioned restrictions will not be applicable for companion whose ticket is eligible for free seat selection, or if the companion is willing to choose a seat with charges.
    • If you are a companion of Paragon members and qualify for aforementioned free seat selection, Extra Comfort seat selection fee paid on/before February 5th, 2023 can be refunded. Please contact China Airlines call centers or branch offices for refund.
  3. Using Mileage to purchase Chargeable seat is not supported at this time.
  4. Award ticket or upgrade with miles and its booking code with (O/I) may select seat for free, and booking code with (Z/X/P) may select "Standard" seats free of charge.
  5. The Dynasty Flyer membership tier at the time of the seat selection will determine whether a passenger needs to pay for seat selection or not.Dynasty/Gold card members have paid for seat selection, but were then upgraded to Gold/Emerald members before relevant flight departure and can select seats for free, the original chargeable seat fee could be refunded in full amount. Please contact China Airlines call centers or branch offices for refund.
  6. After ticket is purchased, please visit web site MANAGE-Seat /Special Assistance, or log in Member service - Travel Services-Booking Records to select seat online. Seat selection is available via Online Check-in 48 hours before flight departure.

Guaranteed Reservation

  1. Paragon members may enjoy guaranteed reservation with validated card number in reservation record on Premium Economy Class Flex product with RBD-W and Economy Class Flex product with RBD-Y. The flights should be marketed and operated by China Airlines and Mandarin Airlines and the reservation should be done at least 48 hours prior to departure.
  2. Paragon members may enjoy guaranteed full-fare economy reservation on scheduled international flights of 6 hours or more. The flights should be marketed and operated by China Airlines and Mandarin Airlines and the reservation should be done at least 24 hours prior to departure with booking class Y.
  3. Emerald members may enjoy guaranteed full-fare economy reservation on scheduled international flights of 6 hours or more. The flights should be marketed and operated by China Airlines and Mandarin Airlines and the reservation should be done at least 24 hours prior to departure with booking class Y.
  4. After the reservation is confirmed, the booking class of the members’ticket should be the same as the aforementioned booking class and members should still pay the fare difference if any. This offer may sometimes be suspended due to major festivals and special operating conditions without notice, but we will try our best to make other arrangements.

Domestic Ticket Discount

Paragon, Emerald and Gold members may enjoy a 10% discount of published fare for Mandarin Airlines domestic tickets at Mandarin Airlines website or designated ticket counters; other members are entitled to a 5% discount.

Birthday Gift Miles

China Airlines offers extra bonus of 2,000 miles as a birthday gift for Paragon/Emerald/Gold card members who travel with revenue tickets on self-operated international flight of China Airlines and Mandarin Airlines during the month period of their birthdays. The extra bonus mileage will be credit to your account in the following month.
  1. To enjoy this offer, DFP members have to use normal paid tickets.
  2. Each member is entitled to such compliment once a year.

Airport Courteous Reception

Exclusive check-in counters and benefits of priority boarding are available at airports for Paragon/Emerald/Gold members.

Extra Baggage Allowance

  1. Please refer to free baggage allowance (FBA) on your electronic ticket receipt to check the allowance is under piece or weight system. Under weight system, the allowance refers to the weight; under piece system, each piece of baggage should not exceed 23 kg on Economy Class, 28 kg on Premium Economy Class and 32 kg on Business Class. For other regulations, please refer to Baggage rules.
  2. This benefit applies only to the self-operated flights of China Airlines and Mandarin Airlines. If itineraries involve connecting flights of other airlines, this benefit is unavailable for sectors handled by other airlines.

Priority Baggage Handling

When taking on self-operated international flight of China Airlines and Mandarin Airlines, Paragon/Emerald/Gold members can enjoy priority handling service for their baggage (this service is not available if the trip involves other carriers or code-shared sectors).

Airport VIP Lounge Access

  1. Paragon, Emerald and GOLD members, when taking a self-operated international flight of China Airlines and Mandarin Airlines for an overseas trip, can access our airport VIP lounge.
  2. Paragon members, when taking a self-operated international flight of China Airlines and Mandarin Airlines, can invite two companions to our self-operated VIP lounges (Taoyuan-Taipei, Kaohsiung, Bangkok, Tokyo Narita International Airport, San Francisco) and Mandarin Airlines self-operated VIP lounge in Taichung. For third-party VIP lounges, they can invite one companion.
  3. Emerald members, when taking a self-operated international flight of China Airlines and Mandarin Airlines, can invite one companion to VIP lounge (regardless of whether it is self-operated).
  4. The companions invited by Paragon or Emerald members do not have to be on the same flight as the Paragon or Emerald members, but they should be taking SkyTeam flights.
  5. Exclusive area service is available in airport VIP lounges at Taoyuan International Airport (TPE), Tokyo Narita Airport (NRT) and San Francisco Airport (SFO). Regulation is as below:
    • When departing from Tokyo Narita Airport (NRT) and San Francisco Airport (SFO), Paragon and Emerald members can access to exclusive area when taking a self-operated international flight of China Airlines and Mandarin Airlines.
    • When departing from Taoyuan International Airport (TPE):
    1. Paragon members can access to exclusive area when taking a self-operated international flight of China Airlines and Mandarin Airlines, or when taking a code-share flight with booking under CI / AE flight number and holding tickets under 297 / 803 ticket stock.
    2. Emerald members can access to exclusive area when taking a self-operated international flight of China Airlines and Mandarin Airlines.
  6. VIP lounges are available to members during their opening hours only, please refer to the information on VIP Lounge for more details.
VIP lounge usage rules
  1. To maintain the service quality of the VIP lounge, China Airlines may abrogate the customers' entitlement to VIP lounge usage if their inappropriate behaviors may affect others' rights and interests. 
  2. No outside food allowed. Any take away of the drinks, pastries, newspapers and magazines provided from the VIP lounge is not permitted.
  3. The VIP lounge is a no-smoking area. Do not smoke at the related facilities in the lounge.
  4. Speak in a low voice on your telephone and mobile phone so as not to disturb others.
  5. Do not push a baggage trolley into the VIP lounge in consideration of the limited VIP lounge space.
  6. Carry around your valuables and we do not bear the responsibility for safekeeping.

VIP Lounge Usage Privilege (Please refer to VIP Lounge Redemption)

Paragon, Emerald and Gold members may redeem their mileage to invite guests to enter China Airlines self-operated VIP Lounges.

Companion Cabin Upgrade at Airport

  1. Paragon or Emerald members can invite one companion traveling on the same flight for upgrade to the same class. This privilege is subject to seat availability.
  2. Paragon and Emerald members should register the name of the companion on the back of their membership cards and it is not allowed to change the name. Members should apply for upgrade only at airport check-in counters. Application is neither available after boarding nor upon reservation.
  3. Paragon or Emerald members themselves and their companion must purchase tickets with eligible ticket class to enjoy this benefit. Details are as below:

    • Eligible ticket class:
      Paragon and Emerald Members: Tickets with booking class J, C, W, U.
      Companions: The same as eligible ticket class for upgrade redeemed with mileage. Please click here for details.

  4. Ineligible tickets and situation:
    Award upgrade, discount tickets (AD,ID,DG,BP,CG, DM,etc.),award tickets, free tickets, group tickets (G Class), infant tickets, labor tickets,and other promotional tickets with upgrade restrictions.
    If the companion has already had a confirmed booking in the cabin the same as Paragon and Emerald members, the companion is not entitled to this benefit, and fare difference for this confirmed booking cannot be refunded (for example, fare difference for ticket exchange, cabin upgrade award or miles).
    If there are other opportunities for upgrade after companion upgrade is done, Paragon members, Emerald members and their companions are not able to enjoy upgrade again.

  5. The ticket holder is responsible for all taxes and surcharges if any while enjoying this upgrade benefit.

Earn Miles

Members who take self-operated international flights of China Airlines and Mandarin Airlines or other partner airlines and use applicable tickets can accumulate mileage for each scheduled flight. When using the services or products of our partners, such as credit card consumption, hotel accommodation and car rental, members can also accumulate mileage (please refer to Partnership Mileage Program).
 
※ The name on the membership card must be the same as that on the passport. On/after 19 March 2016, due to new system restriction, if you are known as another name, it will not be recognized as member's name when making a reservation, which means your flight mileage will not be credited automatically and timely : 
  1. Should making a reservation yourself or through a travel agent, please ensure to give our service personnel both your membership number and your official name (which appears on your card).
  2. If you have reserved by an alias name for a trip which is travelling on/after 19 March, please provide a photocopy of your ticket (or ticket number if it is an electronic ticket) and your boarding pass as well as your membership card number within six months of your flight departure, China Airlines will verify and correct your mileage manually within six weeks. Or you can log in CI website Dynasty Member/ My Account to correct your mileage online.

Redeem Miles

The mileage accumulated by members can be used to redeem free tickets, upgrade cabin class, and use airport VIP lounges or to save excess baggage fees, spendings at Dynasty Sky Boutique, (please refer to Redeem Miles).

Discounts on In-flight Duty-free Goods

  1. All DFP members can pre-order duty free items with miles on China Airlines e-Shopping web-site. Every 1,000 miles equals to USD3. Mileage redemption can be up to 50% of each purchase.
  2. Please refer to China Airlines e-Shopping website for monthly discounts of in-flight purchase discount for Paragon/Emerald/Gold members.
  3. Members need to present membership card to enjoy in flight purchase discount, and it cannot be combined with discounts for pre-ordered e-shopping duty free items (the discount does not include cigarette and some selective items).
  4. Effective from October 1, 2019, Paragon/Emerald/Gold members can show their physical membership card or electronic membership card onboard. Paragon/Emerald/Gold members can now login China Airlines Mobile App and save a screenshot of membership card details before boarding. After presenting your boarding pass or passport to flight attendant for verification, you can then enjoy duty-free special offers onboard (the screenshot of your electronic membership card must include QR code and name).
