Let’s suppose that a passenger flies from Los Angeles to Taipei on CI005, then transfers to Hong Kong on CI641. Assuming that neither flight involves blackout dates, the passenger would need 30,000 miles to upgrade form Economy Class to Dynasty Class from Los Angeles to Taipei and 15,000 miles from Taipei to Hong Kong.
