November 27, 2007, Taipei, Taiwan ¡V In order to maximize market opportunities and provide better service to air freight forwarders, China Airlines has added several new functions to its Cargo Status Automated Notification System. By using these new functions, customers can now receive cargo status updates for specific shipments by filling in the air way bill number on the China Airlines website (http://www.china-airlines.com). In addition, China Airlinesalso provides Unit Load Device information, including pure load or mix-load messages, to help air freight forwarders to pre-arrange shipment delivery or trucking services at the arrival stations prior to flight arrival. This new service will increase work efficiency and reduce costs and help eliminate idle time.
Receiving updates of cargo status information is one of the most important aspects of the cargo forwarding service chain. To do so, air freight forwarders only need to register the service through the China Airlines website, where they can determine up-to-date status on their cargo shipments no matter where they are, a process that also helps reduce telephone and fax bills.
China Airlines provides many innovative services to air freight forwarders including the China Airlines Cargo B2B Platform, the cargo e-Booking service, the air way bill data upload through web service, and the cargo tracking system. Air freight forwarders can now enjoy full information exchanges, and enhanced efficiency in the global forwarding service chain.
