October 11, 2007, Taipei, Taiwan ¡V China Airlines is greatly honored to fly President Chen Shui-bian to the Republic of Marshall Islands, located in the South Pacific Ocean, later today. Since June 2002, China Airlines has carried President Chen on 12 official presidential trips.
An Airbus 340-300 will be dedicated for the duty (Registered Number B-18806). The aircraft is powered by four CFM-56 engines and is equipped with a standard state-of-the-art Global Positioning System to ensure President Chen and his team a safe and pleasant journey. Four experienced pilots and 11 senior flight attendants have been selected to provide the president with a high-quality and enjoyable trip.
The in-flight menu will be based upon President Chen¡¦s personal tastes, and the availability of fresh ingredients. The creative fusion meal will be a mix of Taiwanese and Western cuisine to provide the President and his team an enjoyable in-flight meal service.
The China Airlines A340-300 aircraft is configured into two classes with 276 seats (30 in Dynasty Class and 246 in Economy Class). The A340-300 fleet is used primarily on the Frankfurt, Rome, Hong Kong, Seattle and Honolulu routes, and the average age of the fleet is just six years. |
