China Airlines To Recruit New Flight Attendants

March 11, 2003, Taipei, Taiwan- China Airlines will begin recruiting male and female flight attendants for its A330 fleet later this month. After completing the physical and written exams, qualified candidates will receive an eight-week pre-job training and evaluation before being assigned to bases in Taipei and Kaohsiung.

During March 14 and 20, applicants are encouraged to use the online registration on China Airlines!| corporate website (www.china-airlines.com). The test results will also be available through the website. The first examination will be held in Taipei and Kaohsiung on March 27 and second exam in late April. About 130 to 150 people will be recruited.

"The duties of a flight attendant require congeniality and good communication skills, ‥ said an inflight service official at China Airlines." Physical strength and perseverance are also essential.!‥

China Airlines has more than 2260 male and female flight attendants. The carrier enjoys world-renowned reputation for its inflight services. In 2002, in a survey by Skytrax, China Airlines!| cabin staff were ranked one of the top-ten in the world. China Airlines, with its headquarters in Taiwan, carries a fleet of 55 aircraft, including 41 passenger jets and 14 freighters, and flies to 40 destinations in 20 nations. The average age of its fleet is 5.9 years.
