Piece System
|
- Piece system applies to baggage through-checked:
1. |
Between points in Area 3 (includes all of Asia and the Southwest Pacific) and points in USA / Canada / Mexico / Panama / Peru / Bolivia / Argentina / Brazil / Chile / Paraguay / Uruguay via North /Central Pacific, except for transportation originating from Mexico / Pakistan / Singapore / (Note: For transportation from Singapore to the USA piece system applies.) |
2. |
And From Taiwan to points in Central America and the Caribbean area. |

First Class |
Two pieces of baggage of which the sum of the greatest outside linear dimensions of each does not exceed 62 inches (158cms), and the weight of each does not exceed 70lbs (32kgs).

Dynasty Class |
The same free baggage allowance as that for First Class shall apply.

| Economy Class
|
Two pieces of baggage (measured together) of which the sum of the greatest outside linear dimensions does not exceed 107 inches (269cms), provided the sum of the outside linear dimensions of each bag does not exceed 62 inches (158cms), and that the weight of each does not exceed 70lbs (32kgs). |

P.S1.:Effective from 15 April, 2008 the weight of free check-in baggage allowance for economy class passengers will be adjusted from 70 lbs(32kgs) to 50 lbs(23kgs), however the piece and total outside linear dimensions of that baggage will remain unchanged. In case the weight exceeding 50 lbs(23kgs) but less than 70 lb(32kgs), TWD 800 or other equivalent currency shall be paid as excess baggage charge.
Above-mentioned reduction for the free check-in baggage allowance on economy class is based on the ticket issued on and after 15 April, 2008.

P.S2.:If passenger has a direct connecting flight with North America Regional carriers, the free baggage allowance might be different from each carrier(baggage allowance in U.S region is 50lbs /23kgs), passenger should follow with the new carrier's baggage regulations accordingly.

| B.
Weight System
|
1. |
Weight system applies to all the CAL network except for transportation as specified under A. |
2. |
Those passengers whose ultimate ticketed origin or destination is a point in the UnitedStates (U.S.A.) ,Piece System shall apply when their journeys are either in the UnitedStates or beyond the U.S. ¡V foreign gateway. |
3. |
Passenger's onward transportation within TC3 (Asia and Southwest Pacific area) whensuch a passenger is traveling on-line flights and making stopover(s) within two monthsafter commencement of his travel from point in Canada. However, whenever weightsystem is more beneficial to the passenger, weight system shall be applied. |
