| Seat selection |
Specific seat request is available at the time of booking or can be accessible through “SEAT SELECT” on our CI.Com website after completion of ticketing purchasing for First class, Business class and most economy class customers 90days prior to flight departure. Seat selection is not applicable to partial economy class customers have certain reservation codes. For more details about seat request, please contact our Reservation Office.
Some certain customers are not available to be assigned to the emergency exit seat, whom are as follows: |
| In compliance with flight safety regulations and to assure cabin safety, the exit seats can not be assigned to a passenger who falls into the following categories: |

Those who are pregnant, seriously ill, or lack mobility, strength or dexterity in arms, hands or legs. |

Those younger than 15 years of age. |
*. |
Those unable to read or understand CAL's printed or graphic emergency evacuation instructions. |
*. |
Those who are blind or lack of visual ability. |
*. |
Those who are deaf or lack of aural ability. |
*. |
Those unable to orally convey information to other passengers. |
*. |
Those responsible for carrying small children. |
*. |
Deportees and their escorts. |
*. |
Those traveling with pet (e.g. seeing-eye dog). |
*. |
Passenger travelling with block seat baggage. |
*. |
With any condition that might cause bodily harm if you perform any of the applicable. |

Please be advised that your seat request will be reserved until 60 minutes prior to flight departure. If you need more details for seat selection, please inquire our Reservation Office.
Although we will do our utmost to ensure that your seat request is met, China Airlines reserves the right to assign or reassign seats, without prior notice, due to operational constraints or other special reasons.
If you have been assigned an emergency exit seat at our check-in counter, you will be requested to be able to perform the following functions in case of emergency occurs and cabin crews are not able to provide assistance:

Locate the emergency exit. |

Recognize the emergency exit opening mechanism and understand the operating instructions. |
*. |
Read English well enough to understand these instructions and follow hand signals and oral directions given by crewmembers. |
*. |
Stow or secure the over-wing emergency exit door so it will not impede use of the exit. |
*. |
Activate and stabilize the slide after deployment, and assist others in getting off the slide. |
*. |
Assess, select and follow a safe path away from the emergency exit and aircraft. |
