China Airlines has been taking full initiative in rendering full support to public charitable as well as cultural and art programs in order to escalate the spiritual life and intake of our fellowmen. In the early part of the millennium, we assisted the German Hanover Museum as well as China Post to transport a total of 250 pieces approximately 30 tons of Ancient Egyptian treasures including five mummies to Taiwan for display. It was in December, 2000 that we solely supported the transportation of the special cultural display of terra cotta of Ching Dynasty jointly sponsored by the United Daily News as well as the National Historical Museum. The said ancient treasures has been arranged to be transported from Xian, Shanghai to Hong Kong. Due to the fact that the pallets used by Western Airways did not match the measurements of China Airlines, the said ancient treasures were eventually managed to safely reach Taipei through the careful arrangements and above all the full support rendered by our cargo team members to convert the necessary pallets at Hong Kong. Again, China Airlines‘ effort in transporting ancient treasures has been well recognized and all of our fellowmen have thus been benefited to visualize at the rare cultural heritage of all Chinese as there reappeared the eighth rare scene of the world. |
