Ancient Cultured Items of India Being Transported to Taiwan

"A Special Display of Ancient Cultured Items and Art Pieces of India" has been jointly sponsored by the National Historical Museum, Indian Museum and United Daily Post. In this respect, China Airlines has been chosen to transport the shipment from India with its years of experience in shipping the relevant cargo with unique nature over to Taiwan. The display of Indian ancient cultured items from the Indian Museum in Calcutta, India has marked a total of 159 pieces. In order to ensure that the comparatively larger freight volume of ancient cultured pieces loaded are to be shipped all at once, China Airlines has made special arrangements to take up the shipment by flying A340-300 Air Bus aircraft. Through encounter of different difficulties, it was in the afternoon of April 17, 2003 that the flight was made to Taoyuan International Airport via CI182 from New Delhi, India.

The number of items to be displayed have reached a total of 69 cases weighing 11,000 kilos. Since the number of cases are gigantic, they have been palletized into five different pallets and have been placed in the cargo compartment under the compartment temperature of 22 degrees centigrade for ensuring the safety of the ancient cultured items. After the arrival of the special flight, Cargo Services Department at Taoyuan International Airport has immediately followed up to assign special personnel to board the plane for careful inspection. Moreover, they have been closely in touch with ground handling agents in advance demanding that steps be taken with super care in lowering the pace during the process of de-palletization in order to avoid collision which may damage the ancient cultured items. All in all, the unloading operation has taken for more than an hour. Meanwhile, in order to ensure safety, after the completion of the unloading procedures, the subject ancient cultured items have been placed under isolation by storing them in the warehouse of valued items. In other words, they are under severe surveillance with strictest possible guard. Meanwhile, in order to avoid unnecessary damage to the ancient cultured items during the transport from International Airport to Taipei, special truck with cushion has been assigned to transport the subject items to National Historical Museum with maximum care.

China Airlines' freighters have been flying all over the world and have years of experience in transporting delicate instruments, sizable equipments, arts and sculptured items, live animal, ancient curios with high value, perishable vegetables etc. In this particular case, with the efforts and coordination made by all relevant staff members and personnel, the mission of transporting Indian ancient cultured items has been carried out successfully and smoothly.
