September 2, 2009, Taipei, Taiwan – China Airlines has carried a shipment of typhoon relief aid from Germany free of charge. The relief supplies, which were donated by “Aviation without Borders,” arrived at Taoyuan International Airport at 06:02 on September 1. The goods, weighing 7,038 kg, included blankets, baby food, and other similar aid, and the shipment was handed over to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for delivery to the typhoon victims. The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles has also received relief goods donated by Harmony Bioscience Inc., and CAL is planning to airlift those supplies to Taiwan on September 3. China Airlines continues to donate its time and energy to deliver emergency goods from around the world free of charge, in an effort to relieve the urgent needs of the victims of Typhoon Morakot. |
