May 3, 2007, Taipei, Taiwan !V China Airlines Chairman Philip Wei received a lifetime achievement award from the world-renowned cargo publication Air Cargo News, in London on April 28. The award recognizes Chairman Philip Wei for his visionary role in the air cargo industry and exceptional management of CAL!|s cargo operations. The event marked the first time a corporate top executive from an Asian airline has received the award. The award was presented during the Cargo Airline of the Year awards evening, held by Air Cargo News at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London. Past recipients of the award include Guenter Rohrmann, former Worldwide President of DHL; Sigi Koehler, founder of German Cargo Services; Jeff Bridges, founder of Bridges Worldwide and Issa Baluch, President of FIATA and CEO of Swift Freight.
