Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced to build up the Advance Commercial Information (ACI) system since early Y2005. Air carriers/Freight forwarders are requested to transmit cargo/conveyance/supplementary data electronically to replace manual operation by June, 2006. Ahead of many other brothers, China Airlines has just passed the ACI-EDI Air Cargo and Conveyance Reporting Acceptance validation test and acquired the authentication on 27th February, 2006.

Through the function of this self-developed system, both information of Master / House air waybills provided by airlines and cargo agents could be transmitted in UN/EDIFACT (United Nation electronic data interchange) format which comply with the CBSA regulation. Said information would be delivered to CBSA for customs clearance in advance through the internet for four hours prior to arrival at first port of Canada.

As an active member of airfreight industry, China Airlines is devoting herself to provide better e-Commerce services to supply chain society. Designing ACI and acquiring authentication in a limited time frame is a typical example. This newly developed ACI system will minimize the Canada customs clearance time in processing China Airlines air shipment, meanwhile, providing instant freight status to concerned parties and customers who deliver shipment via China Airlines, will be eventually benefited and expanding prosperous business in Canada
