CI Wins Best Airline Awards In Manchester Airport

June 28, 2004, Taipei, Taiwan- China Airlines has earned the Best Overall and Best Cargo Airline awards in the Skyliner Awards competition, held by the Manchester Airports Group in the U.K. China Airlines was cited for its strict adherence to the standard operating procedures of Manchester Airport, when approaching and leaving the airport.

The Skyliner Awards competition was held to promote Manchester Airport’s noise control and environmental protection. There were 30 awards presented this year and China Airlines has won the best two. This is the 6th year that Skyliner Awards been held.

The award ceremony was held in Manchester Airport on June 28. China Airlines’ Mr. Lung-kuang Ma, Vice President of Flight Operation Division was awarded with the honor on behalf of China Airlines. This is the first time a Taiwanese air carrier was awarded in the U.K..

China Airlines inaugurated its Manchester cargo service in April, 2002. The Manchester route now operates three weekly flights using B747-400F freighters. The Manchester route also has a stop in Delhi, India, making CAL the only Taiwanese carrier operating between Delhi and Manchester.
