Taipei, November 18 - China Airlines announced today that new cargo services from Taipei to New Delhi, India is added to its Taipei -Europe route starting from November 20 on one-flight weekly basis in initial stage. This new route on Taipei-New Delhi-Abu Dhabi-Luxembourg replacing Taipei-Bangkok-Abu Dhabi-Luxembourg makes the China Airlines the exclusive one that provides air cargo transport service from Taipei to New Delhi, following a series of inauguration of new cargo markets such as Miami, Atlanta and Sydney etc. in recent years. China Airlines owns 8 flights from Taipei to Europe and return weekly, of which 7 are from Taipei to Luxembourg and the remaining 1 being from Taipei to Amsterdam. The new New Delhi cargo flights CI349 will take off from Taoyuan International Airport at 10:00 p.m. on Saturday and arrive in New Delhi at 02:45 a.m. on Sunday. It then takes off from New Delhi at 0445 a.m. on Sunday and arrives in Luxembourg at 02:40 p.m. on same day. The return flights CI350 departing from Luxembourg at 07:00 p.m. on Sunday will remain the route on Luxembourg-Abu Dhabi-Bangkok-Taipei and land in Taipei at 01:10 a.m. on Tuesday.
As the hub of import and export trade, New Delhi stands as the highly potential city for air cargo development. The imports consist primarily of information products, electronic parts, food-processing machinery and medical equipment. It is sure to say that the new cargo route will contribute much not only to the increment of our export to India, but to the high growth in bilateral trade.
China Airlines indicated that a statistics from November 1999 issue of Airline Business magazine reveals that 1998 cargo total carried weight ˇ]RTKˇ^for China Airlines ranks 14 among top global 50 cargo airline while ranking top 1 within ROC/Taiwan registered carriers. Furthermore, another survey from Air Cargo World also praises the 1998 image advertisement for China Airlines focused on "10 Top China Airlines Cargo" as the highest ranking for attention-getting ability. |
