China Airlines To Inaugurate Cargo Service To Ho Chi Minh City

February 10, 2003, Taipei, Taiwan !V Due to strong market demand, China Airlines will inaugurate Taiwan!|s first all-cargo service to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam twice weekly, beginning from February 16. Ho Chi Minh City will be China Airlines!| 26th cargo destination of its network.

The Sunday flight CI281 using B747-200 freighter will depart Taoyuan International Airport at 10:35 a.m. and arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at 1:05 p.m. The returning flight CI282 will depart Ho Chi Minh City at 2:50 p.m., with an intermediate stop at Penang, and arrive at Taoyuan International Airport at 11:50 p.m. the same day. The Thursday flight CI283 using B747-400 freighter will leave Taoyuan International Airport at 0:05 a.m., stop at Singapore, and arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at 8:30 a.m. The returning flight CI284 will depart Ho Chi Minh City at 11:00 a.m. and arrive at Taoyuan International Airport at 3:20 p.m.

Vietnam is a booming market with great potential for air cargo transportation. The new air cargo service will enable China Airlines to expand the market share in Indo-China.

China Airlines, home base in Taiwan, carries a fleet of 55 aircraft, including 41 passenger jets and 14 freighters, and flies to 40 destinations in 20 nations. The average age of its fleet is 5.7 years.
