China Airlines Provides Free Transportation

May 11, 2003, Taipei, Taiwan- In the wake of successfully shipping 50.000 masks back to Taiwan free of charge, China Airlines will again ship 8,000 pieces of N95 medical masks total 200,000 pieces from Vancouver to Taiwan via flight CI031 on May 11. This goodwill action will continuously relieve the shortage in mask supply due to the spread of SARS in Taiwan. These masks were donated by oversea Chinese communities and will be sent to health care work force.

Moreover, China Airlines will sponsor free of charge shipping of 10,000 English children's books from Honolulu to Taipei via flight CI017 the same day. These books are also donated by oversea Chinese communities and will be sent to schools in Taiwan!|s offshore islands.

For years, China Airlines has demonstrated corporate citizenship and intensively supported charities and public interests by contributing manpower, free shipping and cash donation.
