May 14, 2003, Taipei, Taiwan !V In the wake of dedicated works on a series of shipping masks to Taiwan free of charge, China Airlines will ship 2,000 pieces of protective suits from Bangkok to Kaohsiung via flight CI648 this evening. Donated by Thailand Taiwanese Businessman Association, these suits will be given to Kaohsiung City Government for the use of anti-SARS medical care work force.

On a separate free shipment of 50,000 masks from Vancouver on CI031 today, China Airlines!| goodwill action helps the relief of shortage in mask supply due to the spread of SARS in Taiwan. As of May 14, China Airlines has provided free transportation to ship more than 210,000 masks to Taiwan from the US, Canada, Japan, Thailand and Hong Kong so far. There will be 210,000 more masks shipped to Taiwan from Canada and Europe in the near future.
